Iskcon female guru
You get kicked out without any judicial procedure which would allow you to defend yourself. You get kicked out not because you raped somebody, because you stole money, no, you get kicked out because you dared to express your opinion.
If your opinion is not in line with the official, corporate, Gestapo narrative, you are finished. And what is the official Gestapo narrative? Basically, it goes like this:. But, he killed an offender. Sannyasi who travels with a girlfriend for 10 years Sacinadanana Swami is nobody else by Ramananda Raya.
Mushroom eating guru Bir Krishna is unbelievably pure, especially when he plays guitar. All those guru-form gurus who are on the guru-list are extremely pure, and although guru never falls down, 70 of them have fallen, including 10 out of 11 original zonal acaryas.
But the remaining ones are pure, although they visit gym sometimes. This is when Gestapo officers come into play. Gestapo officers will send you an email like this:. Alachua, Fl contact alachuatemple. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Can a woman be a guru? - Anandmurti Gurumaa (English)
Hare Krishna. Of course you have a right to your opinions, but your efforts to distribute this book here, and influence our temple and community to your offensive ideas cannot be tolerated.
Our Board of Directors has decided you should not to come to our ISKCON temple, take advantage of our programs and projects or market your book to our community. Therefore, please understand that effective immediately you will not be welcome or allowed to visit the temple in Alachua. Now, when you read the email like this, if you are normal person, you might get shocked.
But I am not shocked. I am happy because now I am able to hunt down all the Gestapo officers who exposed themselves. By revealing their names, they bravely ended up on my website. And they all nicely signed themselves at the bottom of the email. Well, we all know Tamohara, he is purest of the pure, and therefore he is a member of the Gestapo body commission. He ended up on my website many times. First, he banned old peoplethen he approved belly dancers and finally, he banned a mother and her children from coming to the temple.
I mean, of course, all these activities are not activities of ordinary people. Now he banned his Godbrother who is in the movement of 47 years without even speaking to him.
He is on the right track to start killing people soon, maybe it is good to avoid him, next time he becomes merciful, who knows what is he gonna do. This is Tamohara wife, Mantrini Devi dasi. Her hobbies are that she looks like a man, and he also counsels couples. I mean every husband has to understand that a woman is the boss.
Who knows, maybe poor Tamohara is not guilty of his Gestapo behavior, maybe Mantrini is pulling all the strings. The reason this issue has achieved such intensity of emotion and rhetoric is actually quite different.
That is to say, ISKCON is presently defined by its leadership as a monolithic command — control institution that sets standards all members must accept, and to which they must conform their understanding and behavior. The fact is that this issue could very quickly and easily become a non-issue simply by adopting the understanding of the society that many, including this author, believe that Srila Prabhupada intended, which is simply a group of like-minded people who come together to share their common interest by following a set of principles that promote individual spiritual development.
By this definition, the society is non-institutional. The distinction between institutional and non-institutional forms of organization is the difference in the relationship between the organization per se and those who comprise it. In non-institutional systems, the organization is little more than a convenience, an informal tool that serves and assists its members, each of whom further their individual interests through participation in the group.
Such organizations have no independent identity or purposes of their own separate from that of the members. They represent only the composite of the personal objectives of the members.
However, in contradistinction to this, the definition of an institution, and specifically the institution that ISKCON has become, is:. A permanent social organization with purposes of its own, having formalized and structured rules and methods for pursuing those purposes, and making and enforcing rules of conduct in order to control those within it. An institution is an independent, self-justifying, self-perpetuating organization that, for all practical purposes, is not accountable to, nor under the control of, its members.
And worse, the leaders then went off the reservation into all sorts of deviations that lead to child abuse, criminality, police raids, murders, bad publicity and ultimately — bankrupting the ISKCON institution. At the same time, had the rank and file members joined together in some sort of class action lawsuit — to prove the leaders were committing for example fraud by posing as gurus, that could have potentially saved us from at least some of the substantial damage.
Herein lies the root of all of the controversy surrounding the idea of a Vaishnava female diksa guru FDG : the efforts of the leadership to make and enforce rules of conduct in order to control those within it. In common language — the effort to shoehorn everyone into a common understanding and behavior. It must be patently obvious that this is an exercise in futility that can only be accomplished to a very limited extent, for the simple fact that it is impossible to dictate consciousness!
I suggest that instead, the society that Srila Prabhupada intended to create was a loose affiliation wherein members would ascribe to, and endeavor to their best ability, to follow the principles of the Gaudiya Vaishnava siddhanta.
The siddhanta has long been established and is presented in the teachings of our Acharyas for the benefit of those who aspire to achieve spiritual perfection. And our understanding is that neophytes cannot take the post of diksha gurus for all sorts of reasons, including that it creates violent maverick messiah cults.
In such a society there would be no dictates, coercion or imposition on anyone. Everyone is expected to voluntarily follow to the highest degree that they are able. No problem for anyone else. However, if a person is claiming to be a leader, whether temple president or guru, and he is exploiting — say for example — the brahmacharini ladies for sex, then he is hurting all sorts of other people, and he is hurting the image of the religion. And he is exposing the religion to bad media if not lawsuits.
So there has to be some guard rails guiding the standards expected of leaders especially. And there needs to be some form of formal Church Council Governing Body that will in fact dictate that deviant, apa-siddhanta, or worse — illicit or illegal activity in the name of the religion will not be tolerated.
And thus we cannot say these people are not causing problems for others, or that they should not be monitored, contained and if need be, removed from the premises, or perhaps have the police arrest them for crimes against the ISKCON citizens. There has to be protection of women and children, bare minimum, and there needs to be a kshatriya force that will perform that function.
And if anyone would choose to ignore the standards set by the Acharyas, to create their own standard, again, no problem — either in India or anywhere else in the world.
After all, there are already billions of people in this world who do not follow the Vaishnava standards and their fallen behavior is of little interest save for the fact that the Vaishnava desires to help them — para upakara.
There are already perhaps hundreds of bogus gurus and teachers whose beliefs and behavior have no bearing whatsoever on the Vaishnavas. There are already so many sahajiyas. So what? They have no bearing on the Gaudiya Vaishnava principles, nor those who follow them. And if ISKCON were simply defined as those persons who desire and endeavor to follow those principles, others who choose not to follow those principles would be of no consequence.
They all fall under the same heading — the cheaters and the cheated. We cannot allow the original ideals of the society to be misrepresented, as it currently is. Even now various people write to me on a regular basis — very confused about who is in what camp, what camp follows and which does not, and so forth. That is because the bogus camps have merged in the public eye with the bona fide original ISKCON, and its even hard for many senior devotees to separate what is what, who is who, what is right and what is wrong, never mind the public.Designed using Unos.

This careful analysis also reveals that all the gurus who were females in their spiritual identities, nonetheless, took a male form when they descended in the material world to preach and become Gurus.

Hence, there is no Female Guru in the list. Please see the analysis in the tables below:. Spiritual Identity. Lord Balarama. Lord Caitanya. Rupa Manjari. Visakha-devi or Lalita Sakhi. Lavanga Manjari. Raga Manjari. Raghunatha Das. Rasa or Rati or Tulasi Manjari. Vilasa Manjari. Kasturi Manjari. Champaka Manjari. Vinoda-Vallari Manjari. All glories to Srimati Vishnupriya Devi and Srimati Jahnava Mata who have paved the way for generations of women by their humility, tolerance, deep internal strength and commitment.
Many congratulations to the daughters of Srila Prabhupada who have been waiting for decades. This long awaited, important decision opens the doors for thousands of women to take shelter of spiritual teachers they can relate to. It's a day in history to be celebrated. Here's the full resolution. Kanisthas cannot absorb karma, thus its already not ending well for the men, and it won't end well just because a person has a female body.
And please do not mention my name as their supporter anymore, I am done with them for their making women into diksha gurus. This means that the devotees responsible for ISKCON in a given geographic area will be able to say whether they will allow women to act as diksa-guru mantropadesh guru within their zone.
The measure passed by only two votes, and there were two abstentions. The measure is expected to pass. The GBC has now formally endorsed two incompatible views in the matter of determining whether one can be a guru: one view follows shastra and the other abandons shastra. Therefore, any institution that discards scriptural injunction will no longer be able to help its members achieve perfection.
It is a sad day in the history of the sankirtana movement that such a decision against shastra has taken place in the holy dham of Tirupati. This is very sad. It does not matter if these kanisthas are male or female, that is not really the root issue.
The good news is that this will force the "moderates" to break away from "Krishna Westerners" and some of the Jayapataka folks said they would sue the GBC if they passed women guru legislation. Good, let them sue each other and that means they might stop suing us. Moreover, we can use their internal lawsuits in our own lawsuits to prove their are bogus. As Srila Prabhupada says, mundane votes have no jurisdiction over gurus in any event, the whole enterprise if foolish from the get go.
Analysis : I beg a pardon to disagree with critics who beat their chest on each and every move of GBC. There is nothing wrong in Female Diksha Guru. When we say Female Diksha Guru.
Guru is one who surpasses the gross bodily level, fixed in Krishna Consciousness. Now, let's refer Shruti scriptures which is Vedic shabda Pramana to gauge whether females are eligible to read and preach Vedas or not?
Atharva The Sukta specifically emphasizes that girls should receive the same level of training as boys. Rig ved 1. Even Sri Ram got training from mother Arundhati. These mantras are self evident as Vedas are Apurushya, it has divine origin.
Who is Qualified to become Guru? Srila Rupa Goswami gave simple definition in Nectar of Instruction. Updeshamrita 1: A sober person who can tolerate the urge to speak, the mind's demands, the actions of anger and the urges of the tongue, belly and genitals is qualified to make disciples all over the world.
So, if a Vaishnavi who has devoted her entire life in the Transcendent mission of Srila Prabhupada, who is qualifying above parameter is indeed qualified to make disciples. Now, after getting refuted from all logic based on Vedic scriptures they will point past character of female Guru. For them there is a English Proverb, " Every saint has a past".RN: This is breaking our great Indian traditions. And this will push you guys to an end. It's not Mahaprabhu's teaching.
If anyone wants to love Krishna, preach Krishna, he must do this by following Indian tradition. God has always chosen this holy Land "Bhart bhumi" in his all incarnations because he wanted to make this glorious and prosperous. PADA: Guru factory indeed!
Miss Mayhem. Malati's post boyfriend, Prithu Putra Ex-Maharaja. The GBC accepts the philosophical conclusion presented in the SAC's Female Diksa Guru Paper that a mature, qualified, female devotee may accept the role of an initiating spiritual master.
The GBC Body authorizes local area committees to put forward for approval as initiating guru any devotee in their area, male or female, who is qualified according to existing GBC Law. A priest ritvik has a zone. Notice how they are sneaking ritvik ideas into the guru post. Resolved that: 1.
Are at least 55 years of age and in a stable family situation, living under the protection of a husband, elder son or son-in-law, qualified householder couple or senior Vaisnava or Vaisnavi sanga; [PADA: OK, again this is what a priest does. An acharya has no support from anyone except Krishna, he is independent.
Again this is another form of sneaking priest rules into the guru process. Receive written permission from the appropriate regional body or its equivalent, or national council, to give diksa in that particular part of the world. A guru requires no written permission to be a guru whatever. Again, a church council administers the priests, not the gurus. Oh, we have to review that. Then you become spiritual master.
That's all. So I hope that all of you, men, women, boys and girls, become spiritual master and follow this principle. Spiritual master — simply, sincerely, follow the principles and speak to the general public.
Then Krsna immediately becomes your favorite. Krsna does not become your favorite; you become Krsna's favorite. So if you want to become recognized by Krsna very quickly, you take up this process of becoming spiritual master, present the Bhagavad-gita as it is, your life is perfect. Caitanya-caritamrta, Madhya-lila 8. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Generally a spiritual master who constantly instructs a disciple in spiritual science becomes his initiating spiritual master later on.
Caitanya-caritamrta, Adi-lila 1. We recognize that some members and friends of ISKCON may object to this resolution based on their own reading of sastra, their own social experiences, or deeply held Vaisnava convictions. At the same time, and on the same basis, others will think this resolution does not go far enough or that the additional requirements are unfair.
13 Female Gurus in ISKCON’s Guru Parampara mentioned in Bhagavad-gita “As It Is”
To assuage these concerns, we will further describe the milestones leading to this decision and the philosophical underpinnings of this resolution in an upcoming document. Please bless them in this new important spiritual responsibility. For more than a decade, Khadkikar, one of a growing number of Hindu priestesses, has solemnized marriage, birth and death ceremonies for Hindus in India and abroad. Their actions follow the appointment of a panel of experts set up by Pope Francis to consider the controversial question.
This is a response to the video "She can become guru" for all those who want to know the arguments from both sides. Undoubtedly, several senior women devotees in our movement are as learned, dedicated, and in other ways spiritually qualified as many of their godbrothers.
Why then should there be any hesitation to induct them as diksa-gurus? Intwo letters sent to Hamsadutta and Kirtanananda indicated that by any disciple, male or female, passing the Bhaktivedanta examination would be empowered to initiate their own disciples in his presence in order to rapidly expand the movement. Over the last several years there has been much discussion whether women can serve in this role in our society. It has been discussed formally, and in depth at the GBC level and among devotees in different venues.
We do not endorse the conclusion or opinion of this video.
ISKCON GBC approves Women Gurus…
Articles tagged as Female-guru. Help us serve our worldwide family. Make a donation. The Bureau voted 14 in favor, 1 abstention and 1 against for the resolution copied below. Whereas, the GBC has passed a resolution at their mid-term meeting at Tirupatiauthorizing female diksha gurus. However, the Bureau had passed a resolution during its February meeting at Pune, calling on the GBC not to pass any resolution on female diksha gurus, before entering into a dialogue with the Bureau, but regretfully the GBC did not do so, and the Bureau feels distressed and disheartened by the disregard shown by the GBC towards the Bureau.
The Bureau finds that the said resolution instituting female diksha gurus is in our understanding a contravention of this specific instruction of Srila Prabhupada.
Whereas, the resolution passed by the GBC on female diksha gurus is having a divisive effect on the worldwide community of devotees. Whereas, the members of the Bureau find the said resolution instituting female diksha gurus to contradict established vaishnava practices, traditions, and the culture of the Saraswat line of Gaudiyas, as set down in various vedic scriptures. Whereas, Srila Prabhupada did not confer the sacred thread to women, therefore we understand that they are thus unauthorized to confer it to others.
Whereas, Srila Prabhupada had so many sincere and senior female disicples, but still he never appointed a single woman as a TP, GBC, or ritvik guru — as per the July 9 letterthus establishing his intent that as per teaching of the shastra that woman should always be protected and not have authority over men. Whereas, the Bureau is afraid that since the GBC has the tendency to appoint women as TPs and GBCs, and now female diksha gurus, it will open the doors to more Western liberal egalitarian ideas that men and women are absolutely equal, a view that Prabhupada condemned time and again.
Whereas, this resolution and consequent implementation will cause the leaders of the four Vaishnava sampradayas and bona fide followers of Sanatana Dharma to call into question the authenticity of ISKCON. So anyone who is intiaiated by a female guru outside of India cannot be denied as a bona fide initiated devotee within India. We wish to point out that ISKCON India has the most temples, the largest group of both fully dedicated and congregational devotees, and the most book distribution in the world.
The Bureau hereby expresses its strong opposition to the GBC resolution on female diksha gurus, passed during their meeting, at Tirupati. The Bureau calls on the GBC body to rescind the resolution on female diksha gurus during its AGM, and, as requested by the Bureau in Februaryto enter into a dialogue on the issue with us, to come to a mutually agreeable solution on the basis of guru, sadhu, and shastra.
